Abstract

Nutritional status is a balanced condition between nutrient intake in food and the body's needs. This nutritional status can be influenced by many factors, one of which is children's eating patterns. School-age children are one of the groups of children who are vulnerable to nutritional problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the respondents and the relationship between children's eating patterns and the nutritional status of school-age children at SD Inpres Moti in the working area of the Moti Community Health Center. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 89 respondents using stratified random sampling. Data were collected directly by the researcher through a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and anthropometric measurements. This study used univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and mean, while bivariate analysis used the Chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between children's eating patterns (p-value 0.007) and the nutritional status of school-age children in the Bissappu Community Health Center working area. Further research could analyze other factors that may affect nutritional status using a more comprehensive method, namely the Mixed Method, in order to strengthen the research findings.
