FAKE NEWS AWARENESS EDUCATION FOR THE COMMUNITY OF RT 9 LOA DURI ILIR VILLAGE, EAST KALIMANTAN

The Internet is considered the most advanced technology today and the key to progress in communication and exchange of information, goods, services, and technology. The Internet has rapidly changed world civilization and has become a necessity especially when COVID-19 strikes. The coronavirus outbreak has impacted all industries including the use of information and communication technology. But this is not supported by people who understand digital literacy. This shows the low use of the internet by the people of Kutai Kartanegara. The low level of internet usage is linear with the low level of digital literacy for the community. This low level of digital literacy has the potential to make it easy for people to receive and spread fake news, people have the potential to misuse the internet, and other digital crimes. Therefore, it is necessary to hold awareness counseling on fake news to the community of RT.9 Loa Duri Ilir Village so that people can distinguish between fake news and real news.
