Microplastics, Aquatic Environmental Pollution, Aquatic Environmental ManagementAbstract
The presence of microplastics in aquatic organisms causes new complex problems, such as the production of food that is less safe for consumption and a decrease in the level of public health and the quality of life of other living things, as well as the aesthetics of the aquatic environment. This community service activity aims to attract the attention of the community and local government to maintain the aquatic environment. The method used is by delivering and explaining the material, and holding a two-way discussion. The results of the activity show the emergence of awareness and attention to protecting the aquatic environment from plastic waste so that assistance is needed from experts so that the community is independent in sorting and managing waste and the attention and cooperation of the local government in providing facilities in dealing with the problem of plastic waste generated to minimize to eliminate one of the causes of environmental damage in the waters.
