Abstract

Gadget addiction among elementary school students has become a significant issue affecting their social development, health, and academic performance. This study aims to identify gadget addiction behaviors, analyze their impacts, and propose solutions to create a balance in gadget usage. The research methods include observation, interviews, and questionnaires filled out by students and teachers at SD Tiara, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. The findings indicate that a lack of parental supervision and easy access to gadgets are the main causes. Negative impacts include physical health issues, reduced quality of social interactions, and decreased interest in non-digital activities. Proposed solutions involve limiting gadget usage time, introducing alternative activities, implementing gadget-free zones, and providing guidance from parents and teachers. Collaboration between parents, teachers, and students is crucial to preventing and addressing gadget addiction, enabling children to grow healthily and balanced.
